Women's Volleyball Starts Strong, Falters at Dominican

RIVER FOREST, Illinois – Senior Sarabeth Haworth had a double-double of 10 kills and 17 digs as the MSOE women's volleyball team fell to Dominican 22-25, 25-14, 25-17, 25-21, Friday evening at Igini Sports Forum.

The Raiders (4-15, 3-7 NACC) won the first set against a team in the top half of the league for the second-straight match, but could not hold off the Stars (9-17, 7-3 NACC).

Haworth didn't have MSOE's only double-double, as freshman Allison Laurent had 15 assists and 10 kills. Sophomore Hannah Pekarek led the team with 11 kills, while junior Aleah Quast tallied 21 digs. It was her second-straight 20-dig match and fourth of the season.

The back row defense topped 70 digs for the second-straight match, finishing with 73.

Dominican had three players in double-figures in kills, with Kendyl Todd and Katelyn Flayter notching 12 apiece. Rosalyn Wyse had 10.

The Raiders got off to a strong start, hitting .220 in the opening set, but finished the night at .096. Meanwhile, the Stars hit .355 in the second set and .220 in the final frame to finish at .192 in the match.

MSOE closes out its home schedule Saturday, hosting Wisconsin Lutheran at 1 p.m.
