MILWAUKEE – Juniors Tom Smith and John Price were each perfect for the second-straight dual meet, but it was not enough as the MSOE men's tennis team fell to St. Norbert 6-3 Saturday afternoon.
The Raiders (1-5) claimed a point in doubles play, then benefited from Smith and Price's victories in singles against the Green Knights.
The pair of all-conference players won their third-straight doubles match, competing in the No. 2 position with an 8-5 decision.
Price extended his singles winning streak to four-straight matches with a hard-fought match at No. 2. He rebounds from a 6-4 loss in the first set to take the final two frames 6-3, 10-4. Then, at No. 3 singles, Smith scored a 7-6 (7-5), 7-5 victory.
Junior Kyle Fassbender put up a fight at No. 6 singles, falling in three sets. He rebounded from a 6-3 loss in the first set to win set two 6-3, but dropped the final set 10-3.
The Raiders have a week off before returning to the court next Saturday with a pair of non-conference duals with Cornell College and St. Ambrose.
