EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - The MSOE men's tennis team split a pair of matches at UW-Eau Claire Saturday, starting the day with a 6-3 win over the Blugolds before falling to UWEC 9-0.
The Raiders (2-8) took all three doubles points against the Spartans in the opener, then split the singles matches to secure the victory.
Juniors John Price was a double winner for MSOE in singles and doubles play. Price assumed the No. 1 slot in both singles and doubles. He downed his singles opponent 6-3, 6-2 and teamed with junior Tom Smith for an 8-3 doubles victory.
In doubles, juniors Austin Campbell and Mason Sauder teamed on an 8-3 win at No. 2, while Dubuque forfeited at No. 3 without an entry. The Spartans also forfeited the point at No. 6 singles.
Sophomore Ryan Runke won his third singles match in a row against UD, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 5.
The Raiders will have a break before returning to action March 13 at St. Mary's (Minn.).
