MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The MSOE men's tennis team won at each of the top three singles positions, but scored just one doubles point in falling to Concordia Wisconsin, 5-4, Wednesday evening at Elite Club.
The Raiders (5-11, 3-2 NACC) got both singles and doubles points from junior Austin Campbell for the fourth time in five matches, but it was not enough against the Falcons (12-6, 3-0 NACC).
Campbell improved to 3-1 at the No. 3 singles position, scoring a 6-3, 6-2 victory. He also paired with junior Tyler Haanen for a tight 9-7 win at No. 3 doubles.
Juniors John Price and Tom Smith also won their singles matches, with Price holding off CUW's No 1 singles player, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3. At No. 2, Smith won in straight sets, 6-2, 7-5. The duo teamed at No. 1 doubles and came up just short with a tiebreaker loss, 9-8 (7-5).
MSOE returns to action Saturday at UW-Oshkosh.
