La Crosse Hands Women's Soccer First Loss, 1-0

Box Score

LACROSSE, Wisconsin – Junior Mary McFee made 12 saves, but it was not enough as the MSOE women's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season, 1-0, at UW-La Crosse Sunday afternoon.

The Raiders (3-1) posted a strong defensive effort, but fell short as the Eagles (2-1) scored the game's lone goal in the 39th minute.

MSOE's defense bent, but did not break for the most part despite conceding a 27-12 shot advantage to the home side. Shots on goal were 14-5 in favor of UWL, as well.

McFee did her best to keep the team in the game, stopping all but one shot she faced. She also benefited from a team save off a rebound late in the first half. Kenedy Brault made five saves for La Crosse to maintain the shutout.

Haley Hartkemeyer tallied the game-winner at 38:43 off an assist from Kourtni Alcock.

The Raiders return to the field Wednesday at No. 8 Chicago. Kick-off is scheduled for 4 p.m.
