Box Score MEQUON, Wisconsin – The MSOE women's volleyball team rebounded from a 2-0 hole to claim the third set, but could not overcome Concordia Wisconsin the in the fourth in falling 25-18, 25-9, 14-25, 25-20 Tuesday evening at Buuck Fieldhouse.
The Raiders (0-6, 0-1 NACC) pulled a set back in decisive fashion, hitting .308 to claim the third game, but could not overtake the Falcons (6-2, 1-0 NACC) to force a fifth set.
Sophomore Hannah Pekarek led MSOE with eight kills, while freshman Kaylie Butt had a strong match with six kills and a .417 attack percentage.
Kaily Moegenburg posted a match-high 11 kills to go with 14 digs and five blocks for CUW.
The Red & White got off to a slow start, hitting in negative numbers over the first two sets. It got on track in the third set with a 7-1 run to open an 11-5 lead. The Raiders extended its advantage to 10 points at 22-12 before closing out the set.
Concordia Wisconsin opened the fourth set on an 8-3 run, but MSOE refused to go away, responding with a 10-5 run to even the score at 13-13. The home team then pulled away again, building a 21-15 lead. The Raiders would get back within 23-20, but CUW closed out the match with back-to-back kills.
MSOE finished the match hitting .032 against the Falcons' .128.
The Raiders are back in action Thursday, hosting Edgewood at the Kern Center at 7 p.m.
