Box Score COLLEGEVILLE, Minnesota – Nic Kramer scored the game's lone goal in the 21st minute and St. John's made it hold up as the MSOE men's soccer team fell 1-0 Sunday afternoon at Haws Field.
The Raiders (0-2) came up short in an attempt to capture their first win of the season against the Johnnies (1-1).
A through ball into the box put Kramer through on goal early in the match and he converted to give the home side the lead. The Red & White had taken four of the game's first five shots, but the SJU goal came during a run of five-straight shots by the opponents.
MSOE's best early chance came in just the eighth minute when junior Brandon Herman had a shot cleared off the line.
The Raiders were outshot 17-12 in the match, but held an 8-3 advantage in shots on goal.
Sophomore Ryan Snyder made his first collegiate start in goal and made two saves. Nicholas French was really put to the test at the other end of the field, needing to make seven saves, in addition to one team save, to keep the clean sheet intact.
MSOE returns to the field Wednesday, playing at Lawrence. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
