Men's Basketball Drops Close Contest at Wisconsin Lutheran

Box Score

MILWAUKEE – Senior Collin Seubert scored 26 points, but it was not enough as the MSOE men's basketball team fell to Wisconsin Lutheran 67-63 Tuesday evening at the WLC Recreation Complex.

The Raiders (8-10, 7-7 NACC) and Warriors (11-9, 8-7 NACC) were tied 11 times and there were nine lead changes in the game.

Seubert knocked down five 3-pointers in the game to lead all scorers. Sophomore Jason Palesse added 12 points.

Tanner Schieve and Collin Kennedy each scored 20 points for WLC, with Kennedy adding 14 rebounds for a double-double. Chase Nowak also reached double-figures with 17 points.

MSOE had taken a six-point lead at 48-42 on a Palesse layup with 9:27 remaining in the game. The Warriors responded with a 15-1 run that gave them the lead for good. The Red & White simply went cold in that time, not making a field goal for over five minutes.

The Raiders were able to pull within four points down the stretch, but Wisconsin Lutheran made the necessary free throws to ensure that's as close as they would get.

MSOE came out of the gates firing, shooting 53.8 percent from the field in the first half and knocking down 5-of-12 from three-point range. It did cool off after the intermission and finished the night shooting 41.7 percent. Wisconsin Lutheran shot 43.6 percent for the game, including just 5-for-17 from beyond the arc.

The Raiders return to the court Saturday at Aurora.
