LAKE NONA, Florida - The MSOE men's tennis team dropped a pair of matches to Adrian and Otterbein Tuesday afternoon at the USTA National Tennis Campus.
The Raiders (1-11) opened the day with a tough 9-0 loss at the hands of Adrian (5-2), then took two points in a 7-2 loss to Otterbein (2-4).
Against the Cardinals, seniors John Price and Tyler Haanen were the victors for the Red & White. Price won at No. 1 singles 6-2, 7-5, while Haanen's win came at No. 5 6-4, 6-1.
There were also tight matches in the No. 3 and 6 singles positions. Junior Ryan Runke won the first set to push his opponent to three sets before falling 4-6, 6-2, 10-1. Freshman Luke Nelson was narrowly edged in both sets at No. 6, 7-6 (7-5), 7-5.
MSOE returns to the court Wednesday with an exhibition match against Eastern Florida State College.
