Box Score MILWAUKEE – Senior Collin Seubert scored his 1,000th career point and the MSOE men's basketball team routed Marian 80-57 Monday evening at the Kern Center.
The Raiders (9-11, 8-8 NACC) scored 40 points in each half and led by as many as 29 in romping past the Sabres (6-16, 5-12 NACC) to move into a tie for fourth place in the NACC standings.
The win was also the 200th of head coach Brian Miller's coaching career at MSOE. He is the third coach of any sport in department history to reach the milestone.
Seubert finished with a game-high 21 points, hitting a pair of free throws at the 13:08 mark of the first half to reach his milestone, which came in his 93rd career game.
Sophomore Jason Palesse continued his recent hot streak by scoring in double-digits for the fourth time in five games with 16 points. Senior Alex Darville, junior Tegan Miles and freshman Travis Ballard each added eight points.
Reggie Roemer scored 15 points for Marian. Trentin Fouse hit three 3-pointers off the bench for nine points.
The Sabres scored the first two points of the game, but the Raiders followed suit with a 9-0 run and really never looked back. They led 14-8 after an MU bucket with 11:17 remaining in the first half, then rattled off a 13-2 run to open a 27-10 lead.
MSOE led 40-23 at halftime and continued to expand that advantage throughout the second half. A 7-0 spurt made it a 22-point game at 53-31 with 13:28 and the lead peaked at 29 when Ballard converted a pair of free throws to make it 78-49 with 2:29 to play.
The Raiders were on fire for much of the night, shooting over 61 percent from the field in the first half before settling in at 56.9 percent for the game. The also went a robust 19-for-23 from the free throw line. Marian shot 42.1 percent for the game.
The margin of victory allowed for every player that dressed to see action for the Red & White, with 11 different players scoring points.
MSOE returns to the floor Wednesday when it hosts Lakeland.
