Men's Tennis Wins Fourth Straight By 9-0 Score

SHEBOYGAN, Wisconsin – The MSOE men's tennis team continued to roll in league play with a fourth-straight 9-0 shutout, this time of Lakeland Wednesday afternoon in Sheboygan.

The Raiders (7-15, 6-1 NACC) played several players up in the lineup against the Muskies (0-7, 0-3 NACC) and they shined in the new roles.

Senior Austin Campbell played at No. 1 singles for the first time in his career. He came through with a decisive 6-0, 6-1 win. He also manned the No. 1 doubles position for the first time alongside usual partner, senior Tyler Hannen, and the duo scored an 8-1 win. Haanen stepped up to the No. 3 singles slot and won 6-4, 6-0.

Junior Ryan Runke played up at No. 2 singles and scored a 6-2, 6-0 win. He paired with senior Mason Sauder at No. 2 doubles for an 8-1 win. Sauder played at No. 4 singles and did not drop a game in a 6-0, 6-0 win.

Freshmen Michael Korbut and Curt Norton rounded out the lineup. Korbut played singles for the first time this season and was victorious at No. 5, 6-0, 6-4. Meanwhile, Norton did not lose a game with a 6-0, 6-0 win in the No. 6 position. At No. 3 doubles, the pair won 8-2.

The Raiders are 6-1 in the league and have just one conference match remaining at Concordia Wisconsin April 26. They first play at Carthage in a non-league contest Saturday.
