MILWAUKEE – Senior Rachel Lynde notched a double-double and senior Aleah Quast collected 31 digs as the MSOE women's volleyball team fell to Marian 19-25, 25-20, 25-18, 25-22, in the NACC opener for both teams Wednesday evening at the Kern Center.

The Raiders (5-5, 0-1 NACC) opened the match with a victory, only to see the Sabres (3-2, 1-0 NACC) storm back and win three-straight sets.

Lynde led the way with 11 kills and 11 digs. Junior Elsey Kohlmann was next with eight kills.

Senior Abby Born finished with 32 assists and 16 digs. She is now within 10 of the program record for career assists. Quast added three service aces to go with her big dig total.

Jamie Schrauth tallied 17 kills for Marian and Cheyenne Henson had 12 to go with 21 digs.

The Raiders opened the night by jumping out to a 9-4 lead in the opening set. They extended that advantage to 20-13 before closing out the frame for a 1-0 lead.

In the second set, it was back-and-forth early and MSOE held a late 17-16 advantage. The Sabres then scored the next five points to take control of the set and the last three to even the match. A 7-1 run to break a 10-10 tie in the third propelled the visitors in the third set and an 8-0 run to erase a 5-4 deficit in the fourth game capped the victory for Marian.

The Red & White was limited to a .053 attack percentage while the Sabres hit .132.

The Raiders take a break from league play for four matches at the Ripon Invitational this weekend, kicing off Friday against Lawrence.
