Women's Soccer Falls to Aurora, 1-0

Box Score

MILWAUKEE – The MSOE women's soccer team saw its six-match winning streak snapped via a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Aurora Saturday afternoon at Viets Field.

The Raiders (10-8, 7-3, NACC) outshot the Spartans (5-7-3, 4-4-2 NACC) 8-4 in the match but was unable to crack the visitor's defense for an equalizer.

MSOE was burned on a counter-attack early in the second half, where Alexis Abelove was able to draw the defensive attention and play Kelsey King into space. King then netted the eventual game-winner in the 52nd minute.

The Red & White fought for the equalizer but, unfortunately, was unable to find the back of the net.

While the home side did have the edge in shots, AU had a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Juniors Abbie Lorenz and Allison Lessila once again split the game in goal. Neither made a save in the match.

The Raiders close out the regular season Wednesday, hosting Lakeland.
