MILWAUKEE – The MSOE women's tennis team won its 10th match of the season with a decisive 8-1 victory over UW-Stout Saturday afternoon at the McKinley Park Tennis Courts.
The Raiders (10-8) cracked double-digits in wins for the first time in program history in rolling past the Blue Devils (4-9).
Senior Carly Grant and sophomore Sammy Soeder anchored the top of the lineup, scoring an 8-1 victory together at No. 1 doubles before securing singles wins. Grant was victorious at No. 1, 6-3, 6-2. Soeder picked up the win at No. 2 6-2, 6-3.
Freshman Katie Clements worked hard for a 7-6 (10-6), 7-5 win at No. 3 singles. In doubles action, she paired with freshman Leah Becker for an 8-6 win.
Rounding out the winners was senior Riya Chaudhari, playing at No. 4 singles. Playing up a spot from her typical place at No. 5, she picked up the 6-4, 6-3 victory.
Stout defaulted match points at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles.
The Raiders have one more match remaining before starting the NACC Tournament April 30. MSOE plays at North Park April 27.
