Women's Soccer Falls Short Against IIT

Box Score

MILWAUKEE – The MSOE women's soccer team conceded a goal in each half and was unable to get its offense going in falling to Illinois Tech 2-0 Saturday afternoon at Viets Field.

The Raiders (4-5, 1-1 NACC) and Scarlet Hawks (7-0-1, 2-0 NACC) were meeting as NACC rivals for the first time.

Katie Hoegen scored both goals for Illinois Tech, opening the scoring in the 28th minute on a give-and-go through the penalty area. She then struck for the insurance score in the 77th minute, turning in a cross from out wide.

IIT held a 14-9 shot advantage for the game, putting 11 shots on target. Juniors Abbie Lorenz and Allison Lessila split the game in goal, with Lorenz stopping six shots in the opening half. Lessila posted three saves after the intermission.

The Raiders will look to rebound when they return to action Wednesday at Dominican in a rematch of the last two NACC Championship matches.
