Box Score MEQUON, Wisconsin – The MSOE women's volleyball team was unable to stop a potent attack by Concordia Wisconsin in suffering a 25-15, 25-19, 25-15 sweep Saturday afternoon at Buuck Fieldhouse.
The Raiders (6-9, 1-2 NACC) could not keep up with the defending league champion Falcons (9-2, 3-0 NACC) as they hit .348 as a team in the match.
Sophomore Megan Brock led the team with six kills while senior Julia Zeamer added four and three more players finished with three apiece.
Amanda Schultz had a match-best 12 kills for CUW.
The Falcons started the match on fire, jumping out to a 13-4 lead in running away with the opening game. MSOE made it much closer in the second set, staying within striking distance for much of the frame. The score was 20-18 to Concordia Wisconsin when it scored five of the final six points to take a 2-0 lead in the match.
Despite another quick start by CUW, which scored eight of the first 10 points, the Raiders rallied a bit in set three. They pulled back within 10-7 with a 5-2 run before a 6-1 stretch by the Falcons put the game out of reach.
The home team had just eight errors among its 89 attempts. Meanwhile, the Red & White attacked at a .043 clip on 24 kills.
The Raiders return to the court Friday, hosting Concordia Chicago.
