Men's Tennis Posts First Win of the Season at St. Norbert

DePERE, Wisconsin – Four different players won both their singles and doubles matches to lead the MSOE men's tennis team to its first win of the season, 7-2 at St. Norbert Saturday afternoon at Western Racquet.

The Raiders (1-3) took two of three doubles points from the Green Knights and wins in each of the top four singles positions to secure the victory.

The No. 1 doubles pairing of junior Luke Nelson and sophomore David Chon won easily in their match 8-2, then each prevailed in their singles matches. Chon played in the No. 1 position and scored a 6-4, 6-4 win. Then, at No. 2, Nelson swept past his opponent 6-0, 6-2.

Junior Curt Norton and freshman Alec Dam teamed at No. 2 doubles for an 8-4 win. Dam then won his No. 3 singles match 6-3, 6-1, and Norton posted a win at No. 4 singles, 7-6, 6-1.

Freshman Parker Kuhlman rounded out the winners in his No. 6 singles match, 6-2, 7-5.

The Raiders return to the court Feb. 16 at Lake Forest against the host Foresters and Carroll.
