AURORA, Ill.  – Three days after opening the NACC portion of their schedule with a bang, the MSOE women's soccer team was back on the pitch looking to move their conference record to 2-0. They didn't score five goals this time, but they netted two and shutout Aurora on their home turf to stay perfect heading into October.

HOW IT HAPPENED
MSOE (5-3-1, 2-0 NACC) shutout their opponent for the second straight game, this time with the Spartans of Aurora University (2-6-1, 0-1-1) falling prey to the Raiders defense.  It was a balanced attack from the Raiders who recorded eight shots in the first half and nine in the second for a total of 17. Brooke Zidek opened up the scoring less than seven minutes after kickoff with Jeray Riffel adding yet another assist to her season total when she set up Zidek to take a shot from 15-yards out in the lower left-hand corner.

The Red & White started the second half up 1-0, but the Raiders weren't done scoring. MSOE added another goal at 84', this time by Jill Ruark with the assist going to Nikki Ratts. Abbie Lorenz and Allison Lessila split time between the pipes, though neither one was particularly busy. Neither keeper faced a shot on goal, with the defense limiting the Spartans to just two shots in total in the teams second NACC victory of the conference season.

WHO'S ON DECK
The Raiders will be aiming for a three-game winning streak when they go up against against Edgewood on Wednesday night. Kickoff from  Madison is set for 7:00 pm.
