Box Score LISLE, Ill. – While losses are never a great thing, there is such a thing as a good loss. MSOE women's basketball has stymied pretty much each and every opponent on the defensive level this season but haven't been able to string a full offensive game together. This was the case on Thursday evening as they fell to the NACC leading Benedictine Eagles on the road by nine points.
RESULTS
MSOE – 41
Benedictine – 50
HOW IT HAPPENED
Much like the past few games for MSOE (4-11, 4-6 NACC), the defensive effort was out in full force, but the offense struggled to get anything going on Thursday night against Benedictine (12-2, 9-0). Still the Raiders played right along side the NACC leading Eagles. The two teams had identical point totals in the first and fourth quarters, but it was the middle two that would come back and haunt them. The Red & White were outscored 14-10 in the second frame and only managed to put six up on the board in the third. That paired with a 28.8 field goal percentage allowed Benedictine to create enough separating distance to secure their fifth win in a row. Meanwhile, the Raiders will have to wait for their next opportunity to snap their eight-game losing streak.
