Box Score PLYMOUTH, Wis. – Coming off a huge win against first place Wisconsin Lutheran this past Wednesday, MSOE needed to make sure they wouldn't fall victim to a let down game against Lakeland on Saturday afternoon. Mission accomplished. The Raiders led virtually wire to wire in this afternoon's ballgame and logged their third win in a row.
RESULTS
MSOE – 90
Lakeland – 79
HOW IT HAPPENED
It's easier to come away with a victory when most things are going right. Not a lot went wrong for MSOE (8-7, 5-5 NACC) this afternoon as the Raiders were the beneficiary of a full team effort on Saturday. The Red & White shot 56.1 percent for the game, 35.7 from behind the arc, and 73.3 from the free throw line. Meanwhile, Lakeland (6-9, 4-6 NACC) didn't put together a bad game, it was just that MSOE was more efficient in key areas. The Raiders outscored the Muskies 46-30 in the paint and were able to shut down the production from Lakeland's starters. MSOE held a 16-point lead at one point in the ballgame, but that's not to say that they didn't face any adversity. The Muskies claimed a brief one-point lead towards the tail end of the first half, but that was quickly erased with a Matthew Kirmse layup that put the Raiders back in firm control for the rest of the duration. Four of the five Red & White starters scored 15 or more points in the 11-point victory.
