Box Score 4 CLERMONT, Fla. – It appears that MSOE softball has decided to pick up where they left off. The Raiders have gone a perfect 4-0 through their first slate of games down in Florida during their annual spring trip and show no signs of slowing down after posting a total of 32 runs through only 25 innings of play.

HOW THINGS HAVE GONE
MSOE (4-0, 0-0 NACC) came out of the gates firing when they started their 2020 season on Monday, scoring a total of 17 runs in games against St. Joseph's (Maine) and Lebanon Valley. The Raiders continued the onslaught the next day win 13 runs in just five innings against Chatham before winning a pitcher's duel against Thiel to close out their first two days of action in the new year.
The Red & White are hitting .385 as a team with a .448 on-base percentage and slugging at a clip of .523. Out of their 42 total hits, eight have been doubles, two have been triples, and senior Kim White continued her power surge from last year with the teams first home run of the campaign. White is currently hitting .538 with two doubles, a triple, and five runs batted in to go along with the round tripper. Amanda Manssen and Kara McKenna have also started out very strong, each batting .400 with a double. Lauren Stefanczyk is another member of the .400 club through the first four games, leading the team with a total of three doubles.
The Raiders lost very little pitching due to graduation last year and those that have returned have come on strong. Emily Wiederholt has thrown 14 innings of shutout ball, striking out 19 batters to earn a 9.50 strikeout per seven innings rate. Lorrin Pondo also hasn't given up a run, while Sarah Grossman has allowed just one.
WHO'S ON DECK
The Raiders have six more games on their docket down in Florida, with Misericordia and No. 23 Trine heading their way tomorrow.
