Box Score MADISON, Wis. – With tournament play mostly behind them, MSOE women's volleyball headed into the heart of their NACC season when they traveled to the state capital to take on Edgewood. The Red & White put together a gutsy effort but were unable to get past the conference's top team on Friday evening.
RESULT
MSOE RAIDERS – 1 (24, 23, 25, 18)
Edgewood – 3 (26, 25, 14, 25)
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Even though MSOE (11-7, 0-2 NACC) lost three out of the four sets they played in against Edgewood (12-4, 3-0 NACC), they took one of the better teams in the conference to the limit in most of them.
- The Eagles had to win via extra points in the first set and just squeaked by the Red & White in the second with the minimum two-point advantage.
- The Raiders dominated in the third, hitting .414 and accumulating 13 kills in their 25-14 win.
- Unfortunately, they could not keep that momentum going to force a fifth and final set as they had an attack percentage of just .026 in their seven-point set loss and 3-1 overall match defeat.
