Box Score MILWAUKEE – MSOE men's soccer returned home to Viets Field for the first time since October 9th needing to right the ship in order to lock down a postseason berth. They did just that, snapping a two-game losing streak with a one goal shutout of Aurora on Saturday.
RESULT
Aurora – 0
MSOE RAIDERS – 1
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (9-5-3, 7-2-2 NACC) and Aurora (7-6-3, 5-4-2 NACC) each had a lot to play for this afternoon but proceeded to have a mostly back and forth first half with each team only getting a few good looks at the net.
- The second half was almost a carbon copy of the first as things looked like the Raiders would head to their sixth overtime contest of the season.
- Jonny Keane decided that he didn't want to play more than 90 minutes though, knocking in a rebound off the Spartans keeper to give the Red & White a 1-0 lead in the 79th minute with the assist going to Daniel D'Amato.
- MSOE was successful in keeping Aurora at bay during their final push as the clock ticked down to zero, giving themselves their fourth shutout victory of 2021.
RAIDER REMARKS
- The Raiders are now 3-2 in their last five games against the Spartans with all three wins being shutouts.
- Jonny Keane's goal this afternoon was the first of his career.
- The Raiders officially clinched a NACC tournament spot with the victory and will continue their quest for back-to-back postseason championships.

WHO'S ON DECK
The Raiders will head into their regular season finale against Wisconsin Lutheran without an official seed for the playoffs, so needless to say, there is still a lot to play for. The contest at Viets Field will also serve as Senior Night and will begin at 7:00 pm on Wednesday.
