Raiders NACC Hopes End In Heartbreaker

Box Score

MILWAUKEE – After earning a first round bye, MSOE women's soccer got their postseason started when they welcomed No. 3 seed Dominican to Viets Field for a NACC semifinals matchup. Unfortunately, their first game of the tournament was also their last as they fell to the Stars by one on Wednesday night.

RESULT
No. 3 seed Dominican –  2
No. 2 seed MSOE RAIDERS – 1

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Dominican (17-2-2, 12-1-0 NACC) got on the board first and was quick to do so as they took a 1-0 advantage just 6:49 into the ballgame.
  • Neither team scored in the first half after the initial Stars goal, but it was MSOE (16-4-0, 12-1-0 NACC) who scored first in the second when Nikki Ratts knocked one in at the 60th minute.
  • It was Dominican that had the last laugh though. DU found the back of the net via a header off a corner kick to take a one goal advantage with less than 12 minutes to go.
  • The Raiders were only able to get two shots off in the time remaining and fell by the score of 2-1.
