MILWAUKEE – Losing is never fun. Victims of four straight defeats, the MSOE men's basketball team hit the court in search of their first conference win of the 2021 season and found what they were looking for. The Raiders led from the opening basket as they grounded the Eagles by the score of 81-73 inside Hotchkin Arena on Friday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
MSOE (3-4, 1-3 NACC North) wanted to be the ones setting the tone for the ballgame tonight and they did just that. The Raiders opened up the first half on a 7-0 run and went on another one about five minutes later. The Raiders shot 54.3 percent in the first half compared to Edgewood's (6-4, 3-2 NACC North) 33.3 percent mark. The Eagles managed to muster a 7-0 run of their own to close out the first half but still trailed by eight heading into the locker rooms. The Red and White continued to pad their lead, having a 15-point advantage at one point in the second frame, but Edgewood started to creep back into the contest. The Eagles were able to draw within just two points with two minutes remaining but never managed to get any closer than that. MSOE closed out the ballgame on another big run, this time of the 8-2 variety, to secure their first conference win of the year.

RAIDER REMARKS

• The Raiders bench really helped out the cause tonight. Eight MSOE student-athletes saw the court in reserve roles and contributed 34 points.
• MSOE is now ranked in the top 30 in the country in field goal percentage with their 48.9 percent (209-427) mark.
