Box Score PLYMOUTH, Wis. – Time is running out in the NACC regular season, but the MSOE men's basketball team still has plenty of time to earn a few more wins and improve their postseason seeding. The Raiders certainly helped their cause, handily defeating Marian on the road on Friday night.
FINAL SCORE
MSOE RAIDERS – 69
Marian – 53
HOW IT HAPPENED
With only four conference games left and coming off a tough loss to Wisconsin Lutheran on Monday, MSOE (5-5, 3-4 NACC North) needed to come out strong tonight against the Marian Sabres (2-6, 1-6 NACC North). The first half was more of a battle than they would have preferred as each team shot below 40 percent. Still, the Raiders entered the second half with a slim three-point lead and kept the momentum going. MSOE increased their shooting percentage by 22 points in the final stanza of the ballgame which helped to create some much-needed distance between the two clubs. The Raiders used a 9-0 run midway through the half and boosted their lead to 16 by the 10:46 mark to firmly take control. MSOE and Marian matched each other bucket for bucket from that point on but easily secured their third win in their last four games.
RAIDER REMARKS
- The Raiders seemed to have tamed the Sabres as of late. MSOE has come out on the winning end in five of their last six ballgames against Marian.
