Raiders Shooting Goes Cold In Second Half

Box Score

MILWAUKEE – The Raiders entered play tonight looking to put some distance between themselves and the rest of the conference who were tied at 4-4 in the standings. Unfortunately, they did not get the upward trajectory in the rankings that they had hoped for.  A poor shooting second half allowed CUW to build up a substantial lead as the Raiders fell at home on Friday night.

FINAL SCORE
Concordia Wisconsin – 81
MSOE RAIDERS – 57

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first half in tonight's ballgame between MSOE (6-6, 4-5 NACC North) and Concordia Wisconsin (6-4, 5-4 NACC North) flew by extremely quick, almost as quick as the pace of play. The game opened with seven-minute stretch where there were almost no whistles as both teams traded baskets back and forth on each end. The Raiders played well during the opening 20, shooting 46.9 percent and leading by two when the halftime horn sounded. Unfortunately, the second half was not as exciting. The Red & White's shooting percentage fell 20 points while the Falcons increased theirs. MSOE still hung around for most the stanza, but a 10-0 CUW run put the stop to any hopes of a comeback. The Raiders fell by 24 and have just one game left in the regular season. They currently sit in a tie for the fourth and final spot with Lakeland heading into tomorrow's action.

RAIDER REMARKS

  • One of the biggest factors in the game tonight was bench points. CUW scored 38 with their reserves while the Raiders only pitched in 15.
