PLYMOUTH, Wis. – MSOE men's basketball finally opened up NACC play this evening as they took on their North divisional rival Lakeland. The Raiders shot the ball well once again, but lopsided free throw totals in the second half made all the difference in an 11-point loss to the Muskies on Friday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
MSOE (2-2, 0-1 NACC North) played Lakeland (2-2, 1-1 NACC North) straight up for most of the ballgame tonight, especially in the first half. The Raiders shot exactly 50 percent in the opening 20 minutes, but so did the Muskies. LU took six less shots than the Red & White in the frame but converted six three pointer attempts compared to just two for the MSOE. Still the Raiders held onto a slim one-point lead heading into halftime and came out of the locker rooms looking to expand on that advantage. Unfortunately, MSOE had to play catchup from the get-go due to a Lakeland 7-2 run to open up the second half. The Raiders would catch the Muskies and would draw within a single point with 8:42 left to play, but that was as close as they got to regaining the lead. Lakeland outscored the Red & White 26-16 in the time remaining and converted on 12 of their 15 free throw attempts in the half to seal MSOE's fate and send the Raiders to 0-1 to open up conference action.

RAIDER REMARKS

• The Raiders put in a lot of work on the boards tonight, pulling down 48 rebounds in total.
• MSOE made good use of their extra chances on offense and outscored Lakeland 26-6 in second chance points. The Raiders were also dominate in the paint and beat the Muskies 54-38 in that category.
• Ty Miklowski's 21 points set a new career high for the junior.
