MILWAUKEE – MSOE men's tennis played in their first and only match of February this afternoon as they took on Loras in Milwaukee. Unfortunately they won't be able to secure a win in the second month of the season as the Duhawks won the match by the score of 7-2.
MATCH SCORE
Loras – 7
MSOE – 2
HOW IT HAPPENED
After opening up the season with an 8-1 loss to Wartburg, MSOE (0-2, 0-0 NACC) was looking to get something more going against Loras (1-0, 0-0 ARC). The Duhawks had other plans. While the Raiders double pairings fought hard in each of their three matches, Loras would earn the clean sweep and go up 3-0 heading into singles action. There were several close calls when the two teams went one-on-one but Loras still had the upper hand. The Duhawks won four different sets by the scores of 6-3, including one in a match that ended up in a 13-11 tiebreak. Ryan Emerich and Josh Fay were able to get wins out of the fifth and sixth spots, but it was not enough as MSOE moves to 0-2 on the young season.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Raiders will have to wait about a month before they can hit the courts again. They will take on Carthage on Sunday, March 14th at 3:00 pm in Kenosha.
