KENOSHA, Wis. – It has been quite a while since we have seen MSOE women's tennis grace the hardcourts. The Raiders last played back on October 3rd in a 5-4 non-conference win over Wisconsin Lutheran. Yesterday afternoon they returned to action, this time against Carthage. The Red and White battled but ended up on the losing end of a 6-3 outcome.

HOW IT HAPPENED
MSOE (1-1, 0-0 NACC) took just one match in the doubles portion of the afternoon, but what a match it was. Katie Clements and Cierra Smith, already the winningest pair in Raiders history by 12 matches, took home their 31st victory against Carthage's (1-1, 0-0 CCIW) second pairing in an 8-7 battle that they won 4-0 via tiebreak. Leah Becker also fought tooth and nail for her win in the No. 5 singles spot. She beat her Firebird counterpart 7-6 (4-0), 6-7 (0-6), 10-3 while Yuti Modi had a much easier time winning out of the six spot in straight sets 6-4, 6-3.
WHAT'S NEXT
A doubleheader is next up for the Red and White as they will battle Wartburg and Cornell College on Saturday in Iowa. Match times are scheduled for 10:30 am and 3:00 pm respectively.
