HOW IT HAPPENED
Unblemished no more. MSOE (8-8, 5-1 NACC North) carried a perfect conference record into Saturday's action after taking four games they were expected to win against last place Wisconsin Lutheran last weekend. Unfortunately, Lakeland (8-8, 4-2 NACC North) decided to end the Raiders winning streak. The Red & White led 1-0 up until the bottom of the eighth inning behind yet another great performance from Tyler Gronert. However, a MSOE error with two outs led to three unearned runs crossing the plate to put the Muskies out ahead by the final score of 3-1.
Thankfully, the Raiders bats woke up in the second game of the afternoon. The Red & White registered 14 hits and plated three runs in three different innings. Starter Noah Davison got into so trouble early but the offense was able to overcome a 4-0 deficit. Josh Beier had three RBI's, Micah Overley and Nick Stricker had two apiece, and the Raiders bullpen allowed just one hit across 5.2 innings in their six run win.
WHO'S ON DECK
The Red & White will host Lakeland tomorrow at MSOE Raiders Stadium to complete the four-game set. Game one's first pitch is slated for 12:00 pm.
