HOW IT HAPPENED
MSOE (8-10, 5-3 NACC North) jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first inning of game one off of a Josh Beier RBI single, but Lakeland (10-8, 6-2 NACC North) would be quick to respond. The Muskies put up a five spot in their next at bats and grabbed a lead that they would not relinquish. The Raiders had 11 hits against LU pitching and plated four more runs but could not knock out the Muskies starter until the bottom of the ninth in a 12-5 loss.
Lakeland once again grabbed an early lead in game two as four of their players crossed home in the top of the first. The Raiders scored one run in the second, third, fourth, and fifth innings but that was offset by back-to-back two run frames from the fish. The Muskies went with an opener to start the game and only used two pitchers in a contest that went the distance. Brandon Beauchamp ended the afternoon with three RBIs and Beier had two but the Raiders drop the series with a 10-4 defeat.
