MATCH SCORE
MSOE RAIDERS – 1
Illinois Tech – 8
HOW IT HAPPENED
MSOE (4-7, 3-2 NACC) had a rough go of it this afternoon against Illinois Tech (5-0, 5-0 NACC), winning just one of the nine matches played. The Raiders were able to get within striking distance in two of the three doubles matches but still fell by the scores of 8-4, 8-4, and 8-1. The Red & White were able to snag one win as the match moved to singles play with Josh Fay winning out of the number six spot via 7-6, 3-6, 11-9 set scores. Unfortunately, the NACC regular season champions were able to beat MSOE 6-0, 6-0 in three different matches as the Raiders fall on Sunday.
WHAT'S NEXT
Even with the loss the Raiders locked down a NACC tournament spot and will look to improve on their seeding when they take on Lakeland to close out the 2021 regular season next weekend. The Red & White and the Muskies will battle it out on Saturday, May 1st at a time that has yet to be announced.
