MSOE women's tennis headed into this weekend looking to snap their two-match losing streak and improve on their over .500 record. Unfortunately, Edgewood and Illinois Tech were just too much for the shorthanded Raiders crew to handle as they dropped both matches against their NACC foes.
MATCH SCORES
Edgewood – 9
MSOE RAIDERS – 0
MSOE RAIDERS – 1
Illinois Tech – 8
HOW IT HAPPENED
MSOE (4-7, 3-4 NACC) was unable to play at full strength which led to them losing a match automatically against both Edgewood (6-0, 5-0 NACC) and Illinois Tech (5-2, 5-2 NACC). The Raiders were competitive in doubles action against both squads and almost won out of the number three spot against the Scarlet Hawks but ultimately dropped all six to IIT and the Eagles. The Raiders had no luck on the singles end of things against Edgewood and were unable to win more than three games in a set. The Red & White had slightly better success against Illinois Tech however as Yuti Modi battled to win the only MSOE match of the week by the score of 6-3, 6-0.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Red & White will look to grab a playoff spot when they hit the road to take on Lakeland on Saturday, May 1st.
