MILWAUKEE – MSOE women's tennis hadn't seen the court since March 20th but they didn't let the time off stop them. The Raiders secured a convincing 6-3 victory over the Marian Sabres to open up the NACC season and win their first match since the fall.
MATCH SCORE
Marian – 3
MSOE RAIDERS – 6
HOW IT HAPPENED
Just like their male counterparts, the MSOE (2-3, 1-0 NACC) women's tennis team were handed two free points to start the match against a depleted Marian (0-3, 0-2 NACC) team but the Raiders still had to fight for the overall victory in their conference opener. They ended up splitting the doubles side of things with the Sabres as Cameron Larson and Hannah Marron got the 8-1 win to secure the second point in that portion of the match. After Marian took the first singles match, Marron and Katie Clements got two more wins for the Raiders before Leah Becker sealed the deal to give MSOE their first conference win of the season in their first attempt.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Raiders will look to move their season record to .500 when they face off against the Stars of Dominican on Saturday. Match time from River Forest, Ill. is scheduled for 10:00 am.
