HOW IT HAPPENED
You are not going to win too many ballgames when you commit seven errors and that proved to be the case with Edgewood (11-24, 5-13 NACC North) in game one. Out of the nine runs that MSOE (15-13, 12-6) scored throughout the contest, just three were actually charged to Eagles pitching. Regardless, the Raiders hit the ball well, tallying 10 hits including doubles from Nick Stricker, Blake Hall, and Justin Bickman. Josh Beier and Kyle Labedz had two RBIs each and Tyler Gronert went eight very strong innings as the Red & White win by eight.
No errors were committed in the second game of the day, but the result was still the same. Four Red & White pitchers threw a combined shutout while the Raiders bats woke up just in time to do some damage. Neither team was able to find the scoreboard until the bottom of the sixth when the Raiders plated all four of their runs. Bickman slugged his second double of the day, this time clearing the bases and giving the senior three runs batted in. Brandon Besch followed suit with a double of his own that scored Bickman to end the scoring and secure the Red & White's second win of the afternoon.
WHO'S ON DECK
