Box Score LA CROSSE, Wis. – MSOE women's soccer has been red hot on the offensive end over the past couple of weeks, but has also shut down opponents defensively as well. Thankfully, both facets of their game came to play as they defeated UW-La Crosse for their eighth win in a row on Sunday afternoon on the road.
RESULT
MSOE RAIDERS – 2
UW-La Crosse – 1
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (8-2-0, 4-0-0 NACC) struck early in Sunday afternoon's matchup with UW-Lacrosse (6-2-1, 0-0-0). Grace Quinn knocked home the games first goal in the 4th minute to put the Red & White up by one.
- The Raiders outshot UWL 10-5 but neither team would find the scoreboard again in the first half after Quinn's tally.
- La Crosse evened things up in the second half even more quickly than Quinn got things started off in the first with a score just 1:56 into the period.
- Molly Pekala would help the Raiders regain that lead, and for good this time, when she set up Quinn's second goal in the 54th minute.
- Megan Lacina and the MSOE defense stood tall against the UWL offensive push in the second half turning away 11 of their 12 shots to secure the Raiders eighth straight victory.
RAIDER REMARKS
- This is the first time that the Raiders have defeated UW-La Crosse in their four game series dating back to 2016.
