Box Score MILWAUKEE – MSOE women's volleyball played in front of the Kern Center faithful for the final time in 2022 and were hoping to send their fans home happy with a win over the Sabres of Marian. Unfortunately, a back and forth battle that lasted almost the entire match did not fall in the favor of the Raiders in a 3-1 loss on Tuesday evening.
RESULT
Marian – 3 (25, 21, 25, 25)
MSOE RAIDERS – 1 (23, 25, 20, 11)
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE's (3-16, 1-9 NACC) first set against Marian (7-20, 4-6 NACC) went back and forth for quite some time. The frame saw seven ties and four different lead exchanges leading up to the score of 10-10. The Sabres pulled away from there, however. MU went on a 7-0 run to distance themselves from the Raiders and a late Red & White comeback fell short in a 25-23 loss.
- It didn't take long for the Raiders to even the score though. The home team slammed home a team high 12 kills and only let the Sabres lead once in a 25-21 victory.
- Much like the first two sets before it, the third stanza also proved to be a close battle. Each team was within two points of the other for most of it but with the score tied at 17-17, Marian went on an 8-3 run to pull within a set of the match victory.
- Unfortunately, the Red & White couldn't get anything going in what proved to be the final frame of the night. MSOE hit -.133 and only managed four kills in a 25-11 defeat to hand the Sabres the 3-1 match win.
RAIDER REMARKS

- It was a reversal of fortunes for the Raiders this time around. The Red & White defeated the Sabres 3-0 on the road last year but now fall to 3-7 in their last ten games to Marian.
- Emma Braun's 21 digs this evening was the second highest single game total in her three years with the team.
