Box Score DE PERE, Wis. – The premise was simple. Win and get in. The MSOE women's soccer defense was absolutely dominate and the offense provided plenty of support as the Raiders shutout St. Norbert and punch their ticket to yet another NACC postseason tournament.
RESULT
MSOE RAIDERS – 3
St. Norbert – 0
HOW IT HAPPENED
- It's not too hard to win a game in which you don't allow a single shot on goal, but MSOE (11-3-4, 7-1-2 NACC) still needed to provide some scoring of their own to earn the win over St. Norbert (7-10, 6-5 NACC).
- Addison Spilman scored the game winning goal early on in the contest as she used a Jill Ruark pass to score on the breakaway at 12:20 in the first half.
- Up 1-0 heading into the second frame, Grace Quinn decided that she needed to get in on the action not once but twice. The junior scored her seventh goal of the year from 15 yards out thanks to an Olivia Carroll assist before Emma Halverson set up Quinn yet again five minutes later to wrap up the Red & White scoring at 3-0.
- Page Sanchez spent all 90 minutes in net and didn't have to brush aside a single shot as the Raiders allowed just three Green Knight attempts all evening in their shutout win.
RAIDER REMARKS
- The win represents the Raiders second straight victory over SNC which gives the Red & White the 5-2 advantage in the seven-game history between the two schools.
- Grace Quinn's two goals and Addison Spilman's solo tally now gives four different Raiders a share for the team lead with eight apiece on the season.
