Box Score MILWAUKEE – MSOE women's soccer controlled their own destiny heading into their matchup with Wisconsin Lutheran. Win and they would get a bye in the NACC tournament, but a loss would mean they'd have to wait to see how the rest of the cards fell. The Raiders decided to do it the easy way, controlling the tempo of the game and locked down a 2-1 win over the Warriors on Senior Night at Viets Field.
RESULT
Wisconsin Lutheran – 1
MSOE RAIDERS – 2
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (13-3-4, 9-1-2 NACC) dominated Wisconsin Lutheran (5-12-1, 2-9-1 NACC) for most of the game, but the Warriors wouldn't make it easy for them. WLC actually got on the board first, converting one of their two shots on goal in the contest in the 14th minute to go up 1-0.
- It would take some time but with less than five minutes left to go before the intermission Nicole Robb sailed a ball over the WLC keeper's head on a free kick to tie the game at 1-1.
- The score would stay deadlocked for most of the second half, but Elizabeth Kuhn helped break the tie with a beautiful pass to Faith Papazoglou for the freshman's fourth goal of the season to give the Red & White the one goal advantage.
- MSOE outshot Wisconsin Lutheran 27-2 and the defensive was just as effective as the offense in the Raiders 2-1 regular season finale win.
