Raiders Thrash Knights For First Win

Box Score

MILWAUKEE – MSOE men's basketball was back in action on Saturday less than 24 hours after being on the wrong end of an offensive shootout on Friday night. The Raiders rebounded nicely, eclipsing their point total from their season opener in a dominate 40-point win over the Knights of Martin Luther inside the Kern Center.

FINAL SCORE
Martin Luther – 45
MSOE RAIDERS – 85

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • MSOE (1-1) and Martin Luther (0-3) ran close together to start the game as each team battled to create some distance between themselves and their opponent. The Raiders were the first to capitalize when they went on a 15-3 run to go up by 11 midway through the first half.
  • The Red & White eventually extended that lead by double and put MLC down by 22 to end the opening stanza. The home team shot 47.5 percent from the field which included eight successful three point attempts as they took a 48-26 lead into the intermission.
  • The MSOE offense continued to perform when they switched sides and were able to keep at least a 15 point buffer in the second frame. A layup with 2:25 left to go set the highwater mark for the Raiders lead at 40 as the Red & White coasted to an 85-45 victory.

RAIDER REMARKS

  • The Raiders are now 2-0 against the Knights and have won by a combined total of 56 points after resuming their series which saw a gap from 1999 to 2021.
  • MSOE owned the paint and outscored the Knights 36-14 in that department. They also capitalized on extra opportunities they received via their 11 offensive rebounds by cashing in for 16 points.
  • Four different Raiders reached double digits in scoring and all but two of the 18 MSOE student-athletes that saw the court registered at least one rebound.
