Box Score LA CROSSE, Wis. – MSOE women's basketball was back on the court for the second time this week when they kicked off the UW-La Crosse Thanksgiving Classic with a neutral site contest against UW-Platteville. The Raiders got off to a good start, but a limited rotation put them at a disadvantage in a 29 point loss to the Pioneers on Friday night.
FINAL SCORE
MSOE RAIDERS – 43
UW-Platteville – 72
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (0-4) looked like they might grab their first win of the season when they got off to a 13-8 lead in the first quarter thanks to an 11-0 run to end the frame against UW-Platteville (2-5).
- However, that advantage wouldn't last long. The Pioneers proceeded to outscore the Raiders 48-19 in the next two stanzas, largely in part to a 15-0 advantage in fast break points, to take a commanding lead entering the last ten minutes of play.
- The Red & White rebounded and were only outscored by five in the last quarter but it was far too little too late in a 72-43 loss to open up their Thanksgiving weekend slate.
RAIDER REMARKS
- Tonight marked the first time since 2013 that the Raiders and Pioneers faced off against each other. MSOE is 0-2 in the all-time series.
- The banged up Raiders were short handed once again this evening and only eight Red & White student-athletes saw action out on the floor.
