Box Score LISLE, Ill. – Unfortunately, all it takes is one bad quarter to lose a ballgame. MSOE women's basketball learned that lesson the hard way once again this season as a lopsided first quarter allowed Benedictine to take down the Raiders by 22 on Saturday evening.
FINAL SCORE
MSOE RAIDERS – 46
Benedictine – 68
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (2-7, 2-2 NACC) spun their wheels in the first quarter against Benedictine (3-5, 3-1 NACC) which allowed the Eagles to put enough distance between the two clubs to last the duration of the contest. The Raiders scored just seven points while the Eagles more than tripled that in a 25-7 first frame.
- The Red & White played right with BU for the rest of the game, though. MSOE was only outscored by a total of four points in the final three stanzas, including a third quarter where each team scored 18 and the Raiders shot 50 percent from the field.
- The moral victory didn't soften the overall blow for the Raiders though as they fell in their second straight NACC road game to close out the first portion of their conference slate with a 2-2 record after a 68-46 loss to Benedictine.
RAIDER REMARKS
- The Raiders have struggled against the Eagles as of late and have dropped their last five games to Benedictine.
- Sophomore Nina Perl tied her career high for the second straight game after putting up 15 points in the losing effort.
