Offense Not A Problem In Blowout Win Over CUW

Box Score

MEQUON, Wis. – MSOE men's basketball had to quickly hit the reset button after a poor shooting performance on Sunday to prepare for their first road contest of the NACC campaign. The Raiders had no problem starting fresh and put together a spirited effort that brushed aside rival foe Concordia Wisconsin for their first conference win of the 2022-23 season.

FINAL SCORE
MSOE RAIDERS – 87
Concordia Wisconsin – 70

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • MSOE (3-3, 1-1 NACC) started the contest off with Donovan Carter blocking Concordia Wisconsin's (2-5, 1-4 NACC) first shot attempt of the game and the Raiders were off to the races from that point on. They would go on to score the first nine points of the ballgame and led by 15 at the half.
  • The Red & White shot a red hot 62.1 percent in the opening frame and made good on 18 of the 29 attempts they took from the floor. Freshman Mason Dopirak had an impressive 16 points in the initial 20 minutes, but the best was yet to come for the MSOE guard.
  • The Raiders came back down to earth in the second half but still made half of their shots and were able to open up a 22 point gap at the time of their largest lead halfway through the stanza. Dopirak came up with nearly half of the Red & White's points in the period and ended the night with a new career high of 36 in the Raiders 17 point win over the Falcons.

RAIDER REMARKS

  • The Raiders snapped a seven game losing streak to the Falcons tonight and came one point away from trying their largest margin of victory against CUW which still stands at 18.
  • Mason Dopirak now leads all NACC scorers with 21.5 points per game.
