Box Score AURORA, Ill. – MSOE women's basketball made the trek to Illinois this evening looking to put Saturday's tough loss in the past when they took on Aurora. Unfortunately, the Raiders were unable to slow down the Spartans three-point barrage as they fell on the road by 13 on Tuesday night.
FINAL SCORE
MSOE RAIDERS – 61
Aurora – 74
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (6-11, 4-7 NACC) and Aurora (10-7, 8-3 NACC) went toe to toe in the first quarter, something that the Raiders have been able to do with most teams as of late. Neither team shot particularly well but the Spartans still held a one-point lead after ten minutes.
- It was the middle two frames that Aurora did the most damage, however. AU outscored the Red & White 44-25 and made eight three pointers to take a 20-point lead into the final quarter of play.
- The Raiders rebounded, though it wasn't quite enough to have an impact on the outcome of the contest. MSOE went 9-16 from the field in the period and made four treys but were only able to cut down their deficit by seven points.
- Aurora made 12 field goals from behind the arc and outpaced the Red & White 13-4 in second chance points as MSOE fell in their fourth straight contest.
RAIDER REMARKS
- The Red & White have now lost five straight to the Spartans dating back to 2018.
- Both Raekyiah Williams and Chloe Kurkjian eclipsed the 100-rebound mark on the season with their efforts this evening.
