RIVER FOREST, Ill. – MSOE women's basketball headed into the final Saturday of the regular season still with an outside shot of hosting a NACC opening round playoff game inside the Kern Center. Unfortunately, that looks less likely now as the Raiders weren't able to prevail in a defensive contest against Dominican on the road on Saturday.

Dominican – 50

HOW IT HAPPENED

• MSOE (7-13, 5-9 NACC) had a decent start in this afternoon's contest at Dominican (5-17, 4-12 NACC) and outscored the Stars by four in the opening quarter. However, DU would come right back to tie up the game before halftime at 25-25.
• The Red & White's shooting just wasn't the same in the second half though. MSOE shot only 36. 4 percent from the field in the third frame and made only four field goals in the fourth. Dominican didn't light up the scoreboard either but were able to find the baskets when they needed them and went 8-10 from the charity stripe.
• The Raiders had several chances to tie it with under 30 seconds remaining but couldn't get two layups under the basket to fall. The Stars were then able to put away the game with four straight free throws and came away with a five-point win.

RAIDER REMARKS

• The Raiders, who haven't played Dominican since January of 2020, have now lost four in a row to the Stars.
• Dominican led MSOE 17-6 in points off of turnovers this afternoon.
