Box Score FOND DU LAC, Wis. – MSOE men's basketball embarked on their last road swing of the season and headed north to take on Marian this evening. The Raiders looked to even up their season series but a few small second half runs allowed the Sabres to secure a five-point victory.
FINAL SCORE
MSOE RAIDERS – 76
Marian – 81
HOW IT HAPPENED
- It was a back-and-forth battle in the first half between MSOE (8-13, 4-10 NACC) and Marian (13-7, 9-6 NACC). There were three ties and three lead changes, though the Raiders had the advantage for more than 13 of the first 20 minutes.
- The Red & White assembled an eight-point lead towards the end of the first half, but the Sabres were able to cut it down to just two by the time the halftime buzzer sounded.
- The roles seemingly reversed in the second half. Marian grabbed the lead two minutes into the final period and gave it up just twice. Though the Sabres were never able to jump out to a commanding lead, their largest amounted to seven points, they used several mini runs to keep enough distance between themselves and the Raiders.
- MSOE was able to bring themselves within two points of the lead with 25 seconds left, but three MU free throws iced the game in the Raiders 81-76 loss.
