UW-Oshkosh – 8
MSOE RAIDERS – 11
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Game One
- MSOE (4-8) got a stellar pitching performance from Nolan Vincent in the first contest of the day. The starter went eight innings, allowing just one earned run and striking out ten batters.
- UW-Oshkosh (5-5) got one run in the fifth, eighth, and ninth which provided all the offense they needed.
- In the other dugout, the Raiders were neutralized by the Titans pitching. UW-O only gave up one hit in the 3-0 shutout as the Red & White fell for the third straight game against Oshkosh.
- Game Two
- It looked like the Titans would get the clean season sweep over the Raiders based on the way the second game was going. UW-O scored one run in the top of the second before adding five in their half of the sixth to go up 6-0.
- The Raiders still had some fight in them, however. After UW-Oshkosh made it 7-0 in the top of the ninth, MSOE rallied to tie the game and force extra innings. Micah Overley homered to drive in the first three runs, which was then followed up by a Blake Hall two RBI double and run scoring singles from William Blank and Francis Ryan.
- The Titans would score another run in the top of the tenth but again the Raiders fought back. Chris Barnes singled to even up the score once more before Hall smacked a three-run homer to walk things off with the 11-8 victory.
RAIDER REMARKS
- The game two victory marked the first time the Raiders had beaten the Titans in program history.
