Box Score 1 |
Box Score 2 GLENDALE, Wis. – After sweeping Concordia Chicago on Sunday, MSOE baseball was looking for two more wins when they welcomed Rockford to town on Tuesday afternoon. Game one didn't go the Raiders way but they were able to regroup and split the doubleheader against Rockford with a game two victory at MSOE Raiders Stadium.
RESULTS
Rockford – 15
MSOE RAIDERS – 10
Rockford – 7
MSOE Raiders – 10
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Game One
- It looked like MSOE (8-9, 3-1 NACC) was well on their way to a game one winner. The Raiders put seven on the scoreboard by the time the fourth inning rolled around after Rockford (7-5, 2-2 NACC) plated two in the top of the first inning.
- However, things started to slide in the Regents direction. Rockford cut the Red & White lead down to 7-4 before they added seven more runs to their total in the fifth inning alone. They would also put up crooked numbers in the sixth and seventh to go up 14-8 heading into the Raiders half of the eighth.
- MSOE tried to mount a comeback and cut the Regents lead down to 14-10 with two in their second to last at-bats but Rockford tacked on an insurance run in the ninth and won the ballgame by five.
- Game Two
- The offensive production didn't slow down for either team in game two. Tied at 3-3 going into the fourth, Rockford scored four runs to go up 7-4.
- That would be all the Regents would accumulate though as the Raiders slowly chipped away at their deficit. The Red & White scored one run in both the fifth and sixth innings before Micah Overley doubled and Collin Truitt homered to give the Raiders the 8-7 lead.
- Brandon Beauchamp made sure the Raiders would add another to the win column with an two RBI double in the eighth as the Red and White get revenge with a 10-7 victory.
RAIDER REMARKS
- The Raiders continued their strong play against the Regents and are now 8-2 against them in their last ten games.
