HOW IT HAPPENED
- Game One
- Sometimes pregame ceremonies get in the way and throw players off their game. MSOE (23-16, 18-6 NACC) didn't fall into this trap and absolutely demolished their opponents from St. Norbert (17-17, 14-10 NACC) in game one.
- The Raiders took a four-run lead after their first at-bats, and they didn't slow down. The Red & White plated a run in each of the seven innings with RBIs coming from Brandon Beauchamp, Collin Truitt, Blake Hall, Kyle Labedz, Nolan Wojciechowski, Adam Graham, and Nathan Kennedy.
- Starter Tyler Gronert went all seven for the Raiders and didn't give up a run until the Green Knights last at-bats. He struck out eight while allowing just four hits in the 18-run win.
- Game Two
- The Red & White kept pouring it on in game two, scoring 14 runs in the first three innings of play.
- Their streak of 10 straight frames of a runner crossing home plate was snapped in the fourth, but MSOE had more than enough runs to coast to victory. Hall, Labedz, and Josh Beier each registered three RBIs in the contest.
- Luke Schraufnagel got the start and provided four innings of one run ball before giving way to Kurt Giricz and eventual game winner Cole Wilson in the Raiders 14-2 victory.
RAIDER REMARKS
- The Raiders will finish no worse than third in the regular season standings, their second-best NACC finish since they joined the conference back in 2007.
- Senior Tyler Gronert is only seven strikeouts away from breaking the Raiders career record and will have at least one more start to do so.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
